Well it has been a trying few weeks. Lots of work done for classes and campus. Hopefully that settles down a bit and I can return to posting more regularly. There is certainly a great deal of discussion needed.

The fact is it is only those that survived to this point that can even have the debate about the costs to the economy. That should be remembered.
Economic statistics are unable to keep up with the pace of change right now, so I tried to come up with a more accurate picture of the unemployment situation in North Dakota.
With a new initial claims observation for North Dakota I updated the data and the calculations and provide the cumulative numbers through the last observation and the current observation.
I look at the occupational sectors for recent ND initial unemployment claims to facilitate discussions about policy to assist impacted businesses.
